Sometimes

Sometimes one cannot leave despite how much one grieves,
when death would but relieve the misery at hand!
Sometimes we have to fight knowing alone its right and brave the
terrors of night which steals all joy away.

There are day’s we see when death is what we need;
The weary dream of it too be and care not where it’ll lead;
ALAS tis’ now we bleed from open wound’s unseen.

Sometimes we have to stay when we wish all away,
our agony’s the price we pay for everyday we endure when
a cure is ne’er ensured and forced by loved ones dear…who
fight to keep us here; we sacrifice the grave where we see
silence lay! Calm, kind and serene, no wonder why we’re keen!
Shadowed spirits dance in trances, chanting our long-time
romances, lamenting what we’ve lost in vain never again
to us be gained.

Sometimes one cannot leave despite how much one grieves,
when death would but relieve the misery at hand!
Sometimes we have to fight knowing alone its right and brave the
terrors of night which steals all joy away.

  3. I like the usage of repetition in this poem.

    I also like the poem lots , it reminds me of ‘exeat’ by
    Stevie Smith, its great to get to know how people
    appraoch their struggles through art and device.
